THE Modern Dance Co. was founded in 2017 with a mission to celebrate the human experience through artistic collaboration, professional performance opportunities, and community outreach in the performing arts. The company resides in Toledo, Ohio - a place its co-founders have called home for over 30 years. THE studio includes seasonal performances, classes, and workshops celebrating diverse cultures and dance styles.

Rescue Plan Act
Grant Funding
Toledo's Human Experience Modern Dance Company received $5,000.00 from The Arts Commission for our 2023-2024 season. This funding is part of the American Rescue Plan Act money received by the City of Toledo and Lucas County that was created to provide support to local arts organizations and artists. The support will be used to provide performances and workshops to the community. Thank you to these organizations as well as our team who worked diligently on the application for us to receive the funding.
Ohio Arts Council Grant
T.H.E. Modern Dance Co. is made possible in part by an investment of public funds from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.
